My outstandingly overwrought rating criteria: 10 - Near perfect and, crucially, important to me on a personal level. These shows feel like they fundamentally changed the way I think about things and/or had a noticeable impact on the way I live my life. 9 - Near perfect. I have no major complaints about anything in the show, and its good qualities are exceptionally well-executed. In quality these are on par with a 10, but lack the same level of personal impact. 8 - An exceptionally good show, which may have negative elements, but they are so greatly outweighed by the positive that they don't detract from my overall appreciation for the product. 7 - Consistently entertaining or engaging, though with some major flaws or some elements that fell flat in critical ways so as to impair my overall appreciation for the product. Very good, but not extraordinary. 6 - A mixed bag, where significant flaws regularly detract from my enjoyment or there is a lack of major highs to appreciate, but I still at least am happily engaged for the majority of the time that I spend watching it. 5 - Has some good moments or strong conceptual aspects, but poor execution consistently distracts from its positive qualities and balances out the overall impression to one of mediocrity. 4 - May still have some positive qualities or moments, but the bad significantly outweighs the good and, aside from a few short moments, prevents me from enjoying or appreciating the experience of watching it. 3 - Has little to no positive qualities, but the negatives are not so egregious as to be outright offensive to my sensibilities. 2 - Consistently bad to the point that it actively upsets my sensibilities to watch. Irredeemable on any level. 1 - Aho Girl. The only 1 I've ever given, and god willing I'll never watch anything else that requires me to flesh out the way I feel about this level more. |

Ah, sad, but I can understand that looking at your list now. I'm just really hoping it's status as the big new yuri romance to break into the mainstream will get it a S2 in a year or so, since it looks like the manga is now entering endgame stage too with its latest couple of brilliant chapters.
I see you also just finished Bloom Into You and gave it the right score. :eyes: Assume you plan to continue with the manga too? Since I thought the ending was as perfect as it could be in within time constraints, but the play being left out is still really unfortunate - and that's far from all the goodness it has in store.
Also like the article linked in the last episode description. Always appreciated that side of Shirou and how it makes him a better rolemodel than many other heroes :P
> Yesss. Best characters? And how much of the story did you understand on your first try?
Hmm tough call cause I think the main three are all pretty equal for me in different ways. My favorite might be Ninamori because I really enjoyed her episode and mini-arc. I actually cheated and read up a lot on FLCL after I finished so that helped me understand it more but it didn't seem as confusing as I expected going in.
Ahh that's a shame, Johan getting everyone to do his bidding is part of why I liked him so much. I liked how he didn't have any special powers other than amazing charisma that made him feel supernatural to the point where people like Roberto would follow his every order. Tenma was cool for a protag and I appreciate his role but it's tough to match up against Johan and Grimmer (Best Guy). I liked the beginning but the Ruhenheim arc has to be my favorite for being so insane.
Also finished FLCL recently and it was pretty fun with an amazing OST!
> Also, your fucking profile picture. Stop.
But I haven't even gotten to the Pouf memes yet!!
King Crimson isn't so bad in the new translations, it seems, but the old translations were pretty determined to make it time-related even if it didn't really need to be or was supposed to be, so they just made a mess of the whole thing.
